Kudos to the Royal Sonesta Kaua‘i Resort Lihu‘e for hosting the Charity Walk Open Market (a lot of the available goodies came from the garden on the resort’s property!) and Craft Fair to help meet the $300,000 goal of the Kaua‘i Visitor Industry Charity Walk.
Morgan Lopez of the Hawai‘iUSA Federal Credit Union said the event reminded her that the credit union needs to start hustling slippers for the great Slippah Drop that takes place at the Aug. 20 walk starting and ending at the Vidinha Stadium north soccer fields.
There’s also the final Countdown to Charity Walk coming up Saturday, Aug. 13 (did you vote yet?), and during the evening, the Charity Walk Bowling Tournament (there might be a few lanes available at this late date).
Debra DeBusca (she said son Josh Dobashi is heading to Notre Dame University!) and Michelle Winningham took advantage of the Sonesta traffic to get people thinking about booking their holiday events.
Kudos, David Hinazumi of Grove Farm (Grove Farm was matching donations to the Hawai‘i Heart Association up to $5,000 for members of the Grove Farm team) for pulling together the Hawai‘i Health Walk at the Puakea Golf Course early Saturday morning in Lihu‘e, and mahalo, Hawai‘i Pacific Health (they’ve got the Free Keiki Bike and Skateboard Safety Day coming up Saturday, Aug. 13!), for the strong support of the event, where members of the Puakea Grill stepped out on the lanai to join the walkers in cooling down (free cool-down towels and visors while supplies lasted).
