NOAA intern Abigail Seibel spends the last day of work behind the counter of the Kaua‘i Ocean Discovery at the Kukui Grove Center during the first day of the KOD revised back to school operating hours.

School started and the Kaua‘i Ocean Discovery modified their opening hours to 2 to 5 p.m. on Wednesdays and Fridays. The weekend hours remain 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. It also marked the final day for NOAA intern Abigail Seibel (she’s probably reading this on the plane going back to Nebraska) who spent the past 10 weeks helping Jean Souza and developing educational programs for the KOD while experiencing things like the King Tides, traveling to the outer islands, and even waiting for flying saucers at the Grove Farm Bon Odori event…kudos, Sharyl Lam Yuen, Shawn Shimabukuro, and all those Grove Farm hands on a tremendously successful event where Chef Glenn Hayakawa was a life-saver for Chef Ferdinand Dosono (he even stopped by the Pau Hana Market, Monday) of Kaua‘i Kim Chee.
