LIHU‘E — The Dog Fanciers of Kaua‘i announced that it will hold a one-day orientation and registration for its fall puppy and dog obedience training classes Saturday, Aug. 13, in the parking lot behind the Target store, near the site of the recycling center. This is the site where the fall classes will take place.
LIHU‘E — The Dog Fanciers of Kaua‘i announced that it will hold a one-day orientation and registration for its fall puppy and dog obedience training classes Saturday, Aug. 13, in the parking lot behind the Target store, near the site of the recycling center. This is the site where the fall classes will take place.
Look for the tent and banners for the registration that will be held from 10 to 11 a.m.
The owners and handlers of the dog or dogs being trained need to be present with a copy of the dog’s proof of vaccination.
Registration fee is $60 per dog for the 10-week session. Additional dogs are welcomed for a $30 fee. There is an additional membership fee of $10 for individuals, $15 for a family.
Puppy classes, for dogs between 4 to 6 months with required vaccinations, will start Sept. 10 and continue Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. through Nov. 12.
All other dogs age 6 months and older with current vaccinations will be considered for the novice and advance/master novice classes.
One of the Novice classes will start Sept. 6 and run through Nov. 8 on Tuesdays from 6 to 7 p.m. at the parking lot behind the target store.
Another novice class meets Saturdays from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., also at the parking lot behind the Target store.
The advance/master novice class is held Thursdays from 6 p.m. starting Sept. 8 and continuing weekly through Nov. 10.
Preference for enrollment in these classes will be given to those who attend the Aug. 13 registration.
