PO‘IPU — Nash Burkart squeezed out a 6.87 ride on his fifth wave to clinch the Open Men division of the Garden Island Boogie Board Classic that wrapped up Sunday at PK’s on Kaua‘i’s south shore.
Burkart, who finished fourth in the Juniors division, was chasing Kamaehu Kahaunaele of Kekaha who jumped on the first two rides of the finals heat to rack up his 13.03 point total.

During the semifinals of that division, Enokido warmed up during his initial rides, taking the semifinals with rides of 8.00 and 7.47 in his fourth and fifth rides of six for a 15.47 point total over Morretino’s 12.50 points.
