HONOLULU — At 4.5% in May, Kaua‘i’s unemployment rate remains the highest among the counties in Hawai‘i, according to figures from the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.
HONOLULU — At 4.5% in May, Kaua‘i’s unemployment rate remains the highest among the counties in Hawai‘i, according to figures from the state Department of Business, Economic Development and Tourism.
The April Kaua‘i unemployment rate was 4.4%.
The highest rate among the individual islands was 10.6% on Moloka‘i, upping the Maui County rate to 4.2% in May.
The state unemployment rate stood at 3.6%, with 647,600 employed and 28,250 unemployed. It was 3.5% in April this year, and 5.6% in May 2021.
The national unemployment rate was 3.6% in May, unchanged for the past three months. It was 5.8% in May of 2021
In May 0f 2021, Kaua‘i’s jobless rate was 7.9%, also the highest in the state among the counties.
