HANALEI — The state Department of Transportation announced the Hanalei Bridge will be closed in both directions on June 22 and 23, 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for replacing boards.
The county Department of Public Works and its contractor Prometheus Constriction said Friday that a portion of Menehune Road and the Waimea Swinging Bridge be closed on weekdays, June 27 to Aug. 12, from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting. Local traffic may pass through the area from noon to 12:30 p.m. The closure is necessary to allow Prometheus Construction to install rockfall-impact barriers above Menehune Road.
• The DPW and Goodfellow Bros. LLC announced a scheduled closure at the turn lane off Koloa Road onto Kaumuali’i Highway Tuesday to Friday, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The closure is necessary to perform underground utility improvements;
• Portions of Kawaihau Road will be closed from Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to the DPW and Grace Pacific LLC. Additionally, the intersection of Mailihuna, Hau‘a‘ala and Kawaihau roads will experience temporary traffic shifts. These closures are necessary for clearing and grubbing work, roadway excavation, and sidewalk construction, a press release said;
• Portions of Pai Street in Kalaheo will be closed Monday.
