Michelle Miller of Paradise Services was thrilled she got to dress up and go to work covering the storytelling and costuming going on at the Dolphin Touch Wellness Center in Kapa‘a on World Oceans Day.
Kudos to all those hands, minds and souls who took time out to care about what we can do to keep our oceans well. Barbara Wiedner of the Kaua‘i Surfrider Foundation said Wednesdays are their Net Patrol days, when volunteers clean ocean and beach debris, and there’s a network of Adopt-a-Beach people tending to beaches around the island to keep the opala in check. Do your part to keep those rubbish off the beaches and water.
OK, it’s time to remember King Kamehameha and take advantage of the free entertainment and cultural demonstrations at the Royal Sonesta Kaua‘i Resort Lihu‘e Saturday. Kudos Samira Siare of the Hawai‘i Lodging &Tourism Association Kaua‘i Chapter on the “Meet and Greet with Mayor Kawakami.”
There’s a Kaua‘i-Made pop-up appearing at Kukui Grove Center from 10 a.m., and don’t forget, Saturday is the Downtown Lihu‘e Night Market on Kress Street from early afternoon, where The Bikes on Rice with Tommy Noyes leaves Kalena Park at 4:30 p.m. and usually returns around 6-ish.
