Disappointed in series on US presidents
I have been watching the new series on the History Channel about the American presidents, hosted by Bill Clinton.
I was very disappointed in the show I saw last night. When President Eisenhower’s administration was being discussed they mentioned his abhorrence of war, his efforts to limit nuclear proliferation and his views on segregation that highlighted his actions against Arkansas Gov. Orval Faubus.
They showed a short clip of his farewell speech, Jan. 17, 1961. Not one word was heard about his most-important point in that speech. President Eisenhower warned the nation against the establishment of a military-industrial complex. This was not at all mentioned in that documentary. Shame on the History Channel and shame on Bill Clinton.
Chester Mazurowski, Kapa‘a
Chester you should not be surprised by the omission of the most important point in that speech. Similar to everything else the fake mockingbird media puts out these days because all major media conglomerates are owned by the left. They paint a false narratives and leave out critical context in an attempt to constantly reprogram their followers. They have no concern and take the end justifies the means position. The difference in today’s world is more of us are waking up to the lies masked as factual talking points. Has anyone ever noticed how many Clinton associates have been suicided mysteriously? Seth Rich anyone? You think Epstein really killed himself in a max security prison where guards managed to doze off and no recordings exist? The list continues to grow…do your research!
What a bizarre reply!
First, Eisenhower’s concerns about nuclear proliferation and war in general had everything to do with his warning about the military-industrial complex.
Secondly, WPT, you take the media and the left to task for things over which they have no control.
I am willing to bet that you believe the Jan. 6 insurrection, which is currently being viewed by the public as presented by the Jan. 6 investigative committee (including two Republicans, Liz Cheney and Adam Kinzinger) was nothing more than a visit to the Capitol Building by inquisitive tourist-types. Please consider the culpability of Trump and the vast majority of right wing Trumpist Republicans who wish the investigation would just go away.
YOU should wake up to the lies masked as factual talking points concocted by the right!
Hey WTP
A couple of completely non-factual elements in your comment: FOX News is obviously a major media conglomerate and is clearly not “owned” by the left. Secondly, why wouldn’t Eisenhower’s famous comments about the “military-industrial complex” be mentioned by any left-leaning news source? That comment is way more annoying to the right wing, who tend to support military spending and defense corporations almost without reservation, not to mention the fact that Eisenhower was a Republican and a person who was way too honest and common-sensical to be even remotely favored by today’s truth-challenged Republican party. The omission of that specific comment, to me, just looks like a lapse in journalistic judgement, but no big deal in itself. I also wonder why you think Epstein’s suicide is so suspicious. He was one of the creepiest sleazebags in recent history, and he knew he was gonna spend the rest of his days behind bars, seems like a perfect candidate for suicide.
WTP: I love your conspiracy theories! They are the most entertaining part of reading the letters section of the GI. Keep them coming! How about something involving Bill Gates and brain control. Those are especially fun!
Well said, WTP!
