OK, Happy World Oceans Day!
OK, Happy World Oceans Day!
Mark Jeffers and The Storybook Theatre of Hawai‘i will be trekking out to the Dolphin Wellness Center (it’s next to The Musubi Truck on Kukui Street in Kapa‘a) for some World Ocean Day events with keiki (and their parents too) from 3 until 7 p.m. (isn’t that about the time the Milky Way becomes visible?). Check it out.
While checking out the ocean at Ahukini, whoa! A very unusual creation of a rock (it’s a big, heavy one) balancing on another rock? Great job to the creator (like the combined efforts of Fisheye Photos and Na Pali Coasters on their Kaua‘i Pride Parade float with the costumed live band!). Hope others don’t spoil it for others.
Kudos to Tiffany Dick and the Aloha Dance Studios corps of teachers on a great Saturday-evening performance at the Kukui Grove Center food court in Lihu‘e (yes, there were families grinding while watching the performers go through their routines from ballet to hip hop).
Aloha Dance Studio presents its recital Sunday starting at 2 p.m. at the Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall in Lihu‘e (air conditioning and no distracting afternoon sunlight!), with advance tickets available at the Aloha Dance Studio behind The Home Depot, and also at their studio next to Macy’s at KGC.
More kudos to Deja Vu Surf Hawai‘i for participating in the Kaua‘i Pride Parade, where Nelson Acosta should’ve been on the float instead of walking behind in his purple shirt. Harvette Kaneakua’s puppy sure looked real. And when did all those paper web thingies go off?
Kudos to Nannie Apalla and Shy Sadora of Keiki To Career for replicating one of those Fun and Kwazy Rides, and getting all those Kaua‘i High School athletes to participate!
OK, time to go check the ocean on World Oceans Day!
