LIHU‘E — COVID cases and a funeral claimed two contests in Kaua‘i Senior Softball action Saturday at Baniaga Field in Hanapepe and at the Puhi Park.
A positive test result put the contest between Imi‘Ola and the Rookies on the “reschedule” docket at the Hanapepe site, and a funeral moved the contest between the Aloha Kia Lihu‘e A’s and Kawaihau to the “reschedule” list at the Puhi Park.
In contests that were played, the Keonimana Gents lost 7-6 to Barteks, and the East Kaua‘i Legends split their double-header, dropping a 17-9 contest to the Hanama‘ulu Hillsiders before sailing past the Kaua‘i Sons, 15-10.
The Kaua‘i Sons finished the day at Puhi Park by dropping both ends of their doubleheader.
Game sites, or schedules for the June 11 contests were not available at press time.
