Congratulations, Kimberly Hope (and her perennial agent mom), on getting two nominations to the short list of Na Hoku Hanohano Awards (big night is July 20) for Most Promising Album of the Year and Instrumental Album of the Year!
Kimberly is one of the artists booked to make an appearance at the Kaua‘i Art Festival that opens June 17 down at the Eyes Wide Open facility next to the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank warehouse in Nawiliwili.
More kudos to Renae Hamilton-Cambeilh, the YWCA of Kaua‘i and the Kaua‘i Pride Parade Committee on presenting its first two scholarships to Athena Gardena (yes, they have drag performances scheduled for the festival following the Pride Parade) and Jacob Lester!
The YWCA is also a big sponsor of the Kaua‘i Pride Parade that will take off from 9 a.m. Saturday on Rice at Ho‘olako streets and end up at the Historic County Building in Lihu‘e.
Rice Street will be closed for the parade. Motorists should plan accordingly. Maybe a good alternative is the craft fair that pops up at the Grove Farm Market in Puhi every other month from 9:30 a.m.
It’s also First Saturday in Kapa‘a from 5 p.m., and Tiffany Dick and her Aloha Dance Studio JUMP award winners will be on stage at the Kukui Grove Center food court from 5 p.m. (it’s free!).
