That’s what Mike said during the blessing of the completion of the Wilcox Emergency Department, where hewas providing audio and Kahu Jade had a very good presentation on “wai.”
Congratulations, Jen Chahanovich, Andy Bestwick, and all the Wilcox Health leaders. And great job, Conrad Murashige and the Shioi Construction ‘ohana…it definitely takes an ‘ohana to do this project!
Mike and Kahu Jade might not be “candidates,” but Sylvia Luke is, and she came to visit the Kaua‘i Chamber of Commerce Governor’s Luncheon where Kahu Jade did the blessing, and Sylvia got to meet the Kaua‘i leaders, like Lance Segawa and the HHSC Kaua‘i Region leaders, Sandi Kato-Klutke (how did you get around that traffic?), Beth Tokioka, Stephanie Iona (mahalo for setting me up with Laurie Yoshida and the Kaua‘i Pickleball Association tournament that starts Friday and runs through Sunday at the Kalawai Park!). Great job, Mark Perriello and the Chamber staff!
Carrice Gardner has some power because how convenient that all the traffic cleared up about the time Gov. David Ige had to leave for the North Shore, and we all could get to where we needed to without the gridlock.
Kai Kahele (he’s a candidate!) is supposed to be the speaker at the Memorial Day Service on Monday at the Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery, but does he know that Sam Choy will be here on Saturday as part of the Kaua‘i Poke Fest that is going to take place at the Koloa Landing Resort with a portion of the proceeds going to benefit the Kaua‘i Visitor Industry Charity Walk?
With all those crazy events, and the COVID to boot, Stay Safe, Kaua‘i! It’s a long weekend.
