The KSA Fourth annual Washed Up Marine Debris Art Show opened (you gotta inspect Monika Mira’s “Blue Grouper” that might fool you in thinking it’s the “Slipperfish” from the KSA flier. And congratulations Wynde Thomas on earning Best in Show honors. Now, where is that piece?
Exhibition times are weekdays from noon to 6 p.m. and Fridays are noon to 7 p.m. at the gallery in Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e (yes, the Kaua‘i Community College graduation finished in enough time to check out Dr. Carl Berg of the Surfrider Foundation).
And kudos, Morris Wise and the Kaua‘i Chorale, on that amazing performances in the KGC food court. What? No hana hou?
Kudos and mahalo, Easy, Pauline and Nicole Street (it’s a long drive in from Princeville!), who surprised all those registered nurse graduates, and even some of the first-year students who are looking at next year’s commencement (58th, annual?)…and kudos to Duke Lang (no wonder Pua Kaohelauli‘i was there without her state Department of Health hat on) on being the recipient of the University of Hawai‘i Regents’ Excellence in Teaching award!
Sgt. 1st Class Ian Versammy (he was at the Kaua‘i CC Nurses’ Pinning Ceremony, too!) said his Kapa‘a JROTC Color Guard was doing the colors one last time before two of the group graduates with Kapa‘a High School Friday at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex stadium in Kapa‘a.
