HANALEI — The state Department of Transportation announced a right lane closure on Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 1.2 and 2.3, Ohiki Road and Aku Road, Monday through Friday, May 9 to 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for drain cleaning.
Kapa‘a
w Portions of Mailihuna, Hau‘a‘ala and Kawaihau roads will be closed from Monday to Friday, May 9 to 13, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Additionally, Kolohala Road may experience temporary closures. These closures are necessary for clearing and grubbing work, roadway excavation and sidewalk construction. w A right lane closure of Kuhio Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 24 and 25, Kalihiwai Road and Kalihiwai River Bridge, on Monday through Friday, May 9 to 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree trimming;
Hanama‘ulu
w Sections of ‘Akuli Street and Hanama‘ulu Road will be under short lane closures from Monday, May 9, to Friday, May 20, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for improvements to pedestrian access to the school, including new sidewalks, crosswalks and ADA ramps, along with repaving and re-striping Hanama‘ulu Road in front of the school. w A right shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapaa bypass, are in effect, for the highway short-term improvements;
w A right lane closure on Kuamo‘o Road is possible in either direction between mile markers 0.0 and 3, Kuhio Highway and Pokukala Street, from Monday through Friday, May 9 to 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for tree and grass cutting;
Kalaheo
w The county Department of Public Works announced that its contractor, Maui Kupono Builders, will be conducting road repaving work along portions of Kai Ikena Drive and Uka Ikena Street on Monday, May 9, weather permitting. One lane of Kai Ikena Drive and Uka Ikena Street will be closed from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. No parking will be allowed in the work zones during this time.
