Happy Mother’s Day, Kaua‘i!
There’s no shortage of orchids as Neill and Fely Sams of Orchid Alley was able to take care of all those mainland orders…now, time to get ready for the local orders, and the return of First Saturday!
And don’t forget the Kaua‘i Veterans Memorial Hospital Auxiliary Mother’s Day orchid and plant sale Friday morning from 9 a.m. to noon where Coach Bunga Fuertes will have some of his yellow and red bulb onion seedlings along with all those orchids that would normally go to the Garden Island Orchid Society’s Spring Fantasy show and sale…nope, gotta go to the KVMH lawn area.
Melissa McFerrin-Warrack has a Mother’s Day special going on, and the Kaua‘i Made pop up Saturday when the Kaua‘i Society of Artists host Entry Day for their Washed Up marine debris exhibit that opens with the sponsorship of the Surfrider Foundation.
And, for those needing a reason to get up early, the First Hawaiian Bank Troy Barboza Law Enforcement Torch Run opens up the Kaua‘i Special Olympics track and field games at Vidinha Stadium from 7 a.m., Saturday…can always go across the parking lot and social distance while watching the Kaua‘i Soccer Association Spring soccer games.
