LIHU‘E — Six individuals have been nominated for the district judge position at the District Court of the Fifth Circuit in Lihu‘e left vacant after the retirement of Judge Edmund D. Acoba.
Hawai‘i Supreme Court Chief Justice Mark E. Recktenwald, who has the discretion to assign judges to district courts, announced Monday that he is seeking public comment on the nominees.
The individual selected will serve a six-year term and receive an annual salary of $197,280.
The nominees are:
• Lisa R. Arin: Arin currently works at the Law Office of Lisa R. Arin, Inc. She is a graduate of Western State University College of Law and was admitted to the Hawai‘i State Bar in 2010;
• Brandon K. Flores: Flores works as the assistant administrator of the Child Support Enforcement Agency with the state Department of the Attorney General. He is a graduate of the University of Hawai‘i William S. Richardson School of Law and was admitted to the Hawai‘i State Bar in 1996;
• Russell K.M.K. Goo: Goo works as a deputy attorney general with the state Department of the Attorney General. He is a graduate of University of the Pacific McGeorge School of Law and was admitted to the Hawai‘i State Bar in 1998;
• Simeona L.L.A. Mariano: Mariano works as a deputy attorney general with the state Department of the Attorney General. She is a graduate of the University of Hawai‘i William S. Richardson School of Law and was admitted to the Hawaii State Bar in 2004;
• Gregory H. Meyers: Meyers is currently employed with Meyers & Meyers, LLC. He is a graduate of George Washington University Law School and was admitted to the Hawai‘i State Bar in 2002;
• Keola A. Siu: Siu works as the first deputy prosecuting attorney with the county Office of the Prosecuting Attorney on Kaua‘i. He is a graduate of Seattle University School of Law and was admitted to the Hawai‘i State Bar in 2004.
