KEKAHA — The Kekaha Credit Union will be known as the Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union, Kekaha Branch beginning today.
The credit union, a division of Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union, merged with Aloha Pacific FCU back in 2018.
Kekaha CU members will continue to have full access to all the products and services offered by APFCU, at the same physical location with the same employees members know. However, the kekahacu.com website will automatically redirect to alohapacific.com, starting today.
The Kekaha Credit Union Advisory Board (Garrett Agena, Dennis Eguchi, Chris Faye, Tammy Higashi, George Paiste and Samuel Tumbaga) will continue to be involved in branch and community activities.
“As Kekaha FCU board members, we thought of generations of hardworking people who made up our community in all our decisions,” said Advisory Board Director Chris Faye. “Although (APFCU) is from O‘ahu, they understood our culture and appreciated the community that Kekaha Sugar Company built, of which Kekaha Federal Credit Union was an integral part. Aloha Pacific offers services available to our members that big banks offer, plus retains our values as a community in service, sustained by their presence. We proudly embrace the fact that the branch is still open, its history still exhibited within and fully embraced by the Aloha Pacific FCU family.”
“We are Kekaha,” said Ursuline “Ursie” Munar, branch manager. “The spirit and legacy of the Kekaha Sugar Plantation workers who established our credit union in 1938 will endure as we take care of our members, who are our own ‘ohana. Our branch staff – Leann Ishii, Brianni Higashi, Chona Parbo, and Shelbie-Lynn Burley – will continue to welcome our family, friends and neighbors to the branch and assist them in their short-term and long-term goals. One thing will never change: We appreciate our Kekaha Credit Union members and look forward to serving you each and every day!”
Aloha Pacific Federal Credit Union is Hawaii’s third-largest credit union with a diverse membership and 11 convenient locations, including Maui and Las Vegas.
