WAIMEA — There will be a right-lane closure of Kaumuali‘i Highway possible in either direction between mile markers 17 and 21, Lele Road and Poke Road, Monday through Friday, March 28 to Friday, April 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for grass-trimming, according to the state Department of Transporation.

Makaweli
• A right-lane closure of Kaumuali‘i Highway is possible in either direction between mile markers 19 and 20.6, Kaumakani Road and Kaumuali‘i Highway, Monday through Friday, March 28 to April 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for grass-trimming;
Kalaheo
• Portions of Ai, Ihu and Lolo roads will be closed Wednesday, March 30 to Monday, April 4, weekdays from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for road-resurfacing work, according to the county Department of Public Works and contractor Maui Kupono Builders. Koloa
• The DPW and contractor Maui Kupuno Builders announced that Po‘ipu Road, from Koloa Road to Waikomo Road, will be closed from Monday to Wednesday, March 28 to 30, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for road-resurfacing work. Po‘ipu Road will be closed to southbound traffic between Koloa Road and Waikomo Road. Only northbound traffic will be allowed through the work zone at this time. To bypass the closure, motorists traveling southbound from Koloa Road may take either Weliweli Road and Waikomo Road or Ala Kalanikaumaka and Lopaka Paipa Boulevard. During school drop off times, both lanes will be open. Crews will shut down southbound traffic at 8:30 a.m. During school pick up times, only the northbound lane will be open. Motorists coming from the north may access Po‘ipu Road via Waikomo Road and Ala Kalanikaumaka and Lopaka Paipa Boulevard. • There will be lane closures on Koloa and Weliweli roads from Tuesday through Thursday, March 29 to April 7, weekdays, according to the DPW and Koga Engineering and Construction. From March 29 to April 1, the Koloa and Weliweli roads intersection is scheduled for closures for utility work. Koloa Road between Maluhia Road and Waikomo Road will be reduced to a single lane. In addition, Weliweli Road will be closed at the Koloa Road intersection. Motorists are advised to use Waikomo Road as a detour. From April 4 to April 7, a section of Koloa Road, between Weliweli Road and Waikomo Road, will be closed for utility work. Motorists are advised to use Waikomo Road and Weliweli Road as detours. • A portion of ‘Oma‘o Road, from Kaumuali‘i Highway to Eke Road, will be closed for road work on Thursday, March 31 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., according to the county Department of Water. Water service will be turned off to approximately four customers on ‘Oma‘o Road in order to accommodate the road work. Customers will be notified via door-to-door notice. • A right-shoulder closure and narrowed lanes of Kuhio Highway in the southbound direction between mile markers 5.7 and 6.7, in the vicinity of Leho Drive and Kapa‘a bypass road, will take place Monday through Friday, March 28 to April 1, from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for road and shoulder work;
Kapa‘a
• Portions of Mailihuna and Kawaihau roads will be closed from Monda through Friday, March 28 to April 1, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to the DPW and Grace Pacific LLC. The makai driveway to Kapa‘a High School’s athletic field may experience temporary closures. The periodic, one-lane closures on Mailihuna Road are necessary for sidewalk construction, grade wall construction and roadway excavation. A detour route through Kolohala Road is narrow.
