LIHU‘E — The Ahukini Wharf Rats coughed up four runs in the sixth inning last Friday to knot their contest with Na Koa Kupuna, 15-15 during the super seniors division contests at Isenberg Park in Lihu‘e.
Na Koa Kupuna opened the seventh with a long triple to right field by Ale Lomosod (he likes the “super seniors” name). Jim Bennett followed with an RBI single to push Lomosod home and give Na Koa Kupuna the 16-15 edge.
Saturday saw the game schedule at the Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapa‘a shortened to just two games while five kupuna teams dealt with COVID-19 isolation protocol. The affected contests will be rescheduled.
Kupuna softball continues this week with the super seniors meeting for two games Friday at Isenberg Park starting at 9 a.m.
The Kaua‘i Senior Softball League hosts games at ‘Ele‘ele Park and the BJB Sports Complex in Kapa‘a, with the first pitches at both sites going off starting at 9 a.m.
