Kiakahi Volleyball Club, an all-island team made up of players from Waimea, Kapa‘a, and Kaua‘i high school players, are heading to the Colorado Crossroads tournament in Denver, Colorado this week. The three-day tournament is one of the largest girls’ volleyball tournaments in the country and attracting teams from 30 different states in its 2021 showing. The tournament is viewed as one of the best college recruiting tournaments in the country, and the Kiakahi coaches wanted to provide the girls one last fun hurrah while having an opportunity to be scouted. The coaches want to express their appreciation for the support from the community, families, and friends for these young ladies.

Soccer in 2013? That’s when Kylie Kuhlmann, right, played soccer for Kaua‘i High School. Kylie was home and visiting mom, Donya McKnight of Little McFarm, during the plant swap (Donya’s looking for more air plants) on Kress Street in Lihu‘e.

Abie Coma celebrates International Women’s Day (it was Tuesday, March 8!) at the Alakoko Store by setting up displays of women-owned companies like Staci Ricciardi’s Wahine Rising line for social media.

Happy belated International Women’s Day (March 8!) to the Alakoko Store’s Abie Coma (when was sister Bethany Coma scheduled to come in?), who spent her plant swap day preparing displays of women-owned businesses for display on social media.
