Ayba Gonsalves (she was the rock in the midst of shoppers coming and going at the Times Super Market in Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e) of Girl Scout Troop 008 was tucked away in the back of the bank of shopping carts waiting to be sanitized (yes, the pandemic is still here!) Friday evening (Skippa Caycayon — he said his grandson Mikey Manera’s team got bus’ up — was playing bass on-stage).

When Ayba came to get a box of Tagalongs (mom said the new Adventurefuls was the first Girl Scout cookie to sell out!), her home-made poster of which Girl Scout cookie flavors were available showed only two options — Thin Mints and Tagalongs!
Mom also said Ayba is only about a hundred boxes shy of her 1,008-box goal, which means the Girl Scout cookies are selling. Those who haven’t finished stocking up for the year need to get the cookies, now — check gshawaii.org for the closest available source (troop or retail booth). And, Tuesday is Malasada Tuesday, too!
Congratulations, Elysse Litvack and the Kumu’s Cupboard ‘ohana on the fifth anniversary of the teacher-resource facility, where you got to meet Ms. Miss (that is the coolest name yet!), who represented all the educators from Kapa‘a Middle School.
When is Dr. Suess’s birthday?
Sheila Bradley of USborne Books and More will have a book sale Saturday at Kukui Grove to celebrate Read Across America and help Kumu’s Cupboard.
Gotta go find some malasadas before they’re all gone.
