LIHU‘E — The Hawai‘i State Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announced 28 new cases of COVID-19 on Friday.
This brings the number of active cases to 69, with five hospitalized. To date, the county has recorded 11,823 cumulative cases.
Mobile COVID-19 vaccine clinics are scheduled in neighborhoods around Kaua‘i starting Saturday. Ho‘ola Lahui will hold clinics at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center and Isenberg Park in Lihue from 9 to 11 a.m., open to ages 5 and older.
The mobile clinics offer initial doses and booster doses of the Moderna and Pfizer vaccines. Walk-ins are welcome, and no appointments are needed. Minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
The next clinic will be Thursday afternoon, March 3, the mobile hospital van will hold a vaccine clinic at the Hanalei Neighborhood Center from 3 to 5 p.m., open to ages 12 and older. The mobile hospital van is a partnership between the County of Kaua‘i, Hawaii Health Systems Corporation, and Wilcox Health.
To date, the county has recorded 11,795 cumulative cases.
