It was a holiday event, with Ednilau Farms getting swarmed by people seeking cut flowers (was it a flower holiday?), and Laurie Ho said the “garlic shoots” (as compared with green onions or scallions) have been jumping off the shelves. Wilaporn Farms was the winner, this week.
And, there were no less than four vendors having okra for that visitor from Oregon to choose from. She’s planning on coating them in bread crumbs and frying them.
Wednesday is the last day for anyone to check out the Kaua‘i Quilt Show that has been drawing customers almost daily, at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery inside KGC. Saturday is entry day for the upcoming Kaua‘i Society of Artists Spring Show.
Peter Rayno was talking about the Hanamaulu Hillsiders’ loss (Ernie Domingo didn’t have any home runs) to the Aloha Kia Lihu‘e A’s (Paul Curtis said Ron Wood had a 2-run homer!) Saturday at the Pat Baniaga field in Hanapepe, where the Rookies made short work of Barteks. Friday we have the opening of a new age 70-and-better league with four teams.
