HANAPEPE — The right lane of Kaumuali‘i Highway in the westbound direction between mile markers 2.1 and 17, Anonui Street and Lele Road, will be closed from Tuesday to Friday, Feb. 22 to 25, for guardrail repair, the state Department of Transporation announced. The work will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
As with all road work, county or state, it is weather-permitting.
Koloa
• Ala Kalanikaumaka, from the Koloa Road roundabout to Lopaka Paipa Boulevard, will be closed from Tuesday to Friday, Feb. 22 to 25, from 8 to 4:30 p.m., according to the county Department of Public Works and its contractor Maui Kupuno Builders. The closure is necessary for continuing road-resurfacing work. Motorists will be detoured to Lopaka Paipa Boulevard during this closure. • Sections of Wehe Road in Lihu‘e near Kaua‘i Economic Opportunity, Inc. Mana’olana will be under a one-lane closure from Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 22 to 25, from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The closure is necessary for improvements to the KEO Mana‘olana sewer line. • Sections of ‘Akuli Street and Hanama‘ulu Road will be under short lane closures weekdays from Tuesday, Feb. 22 to Friday, March 4, according to DPW and Goodfellow Bros. LLC. Work is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no road work occurring during the peak traffic times for school drop-off and pick-up. The lane closures are necessary for improvements to pedestrian access to the school, including new sidewalks, crosswalks and ADA ramps. • A portion of Mailihuna Road will be closed from Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 22 to 25, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., according to DPW and Grace Pacific LLC. The periodic, one-lane closures are necessary for sidewalk construction, driveway construction and roadway excavation. A temporary traffic detour route will be available through Kolohala Road. • A portion of Hauiki Road, near the vicinity of a cane haul road and Olohena Road, will have periodic land closures from Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 22 to 25, according to DPD and DMK & Associates. There will be a single-lane closure from Feb. 22 to Feb. 23, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., and a full-road closure Thursday and Friday, Feb. 24 and 25, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The closures are necessary to allow cleaning, crack sealing and slurry seal of the roadway. • A right-lane closure on Kuhio Highway in both directions between mile markers 22 and 24, Kuhio Highway and Kalihiwai Road, takes place Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 22 to 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for grass and tree trimming;
Princeville
• A right-lane closure on Kuhio Highway in both directions between mile markers 27 and 28, Ka Haku Road and ‘Anini Stream, takes place Tuesday through Friday, Feb. 22 to 25, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for grass and tree trimming.
