LIHU‘E — Applications for the annual Kaua‘i Filipino Chamber of Commerce scholarship are being accepted from graduating Kaua‘i high-school seniors and those pursuing vocations.
Each year, about 10 students received between $500 to $1,000 from the KFCC Scholarship Committee, with a special fund to any person passionate about entering the health-care industry.
KFFC scholarships are funded by KFCC’s annual scholarship golf tournament and other fundraising activities, and go directly to Kaua‘i’s graduating seniors.
The two types of scholarship awards are for students attending any four-year university, junior college or community college, and for any student pursuing a vocational skill such as nursing.
Applications are now available at the island’s high schools and Kaua‘i Community College, through career counselors and the KCC financial aid office.
The application deadline is March 18. Scholarship winners will be notified by April 15.
