Aloha, Jeff Haigh (Daryl Dobashi saw him last week, but the closest thing l got was the aging Lunar New Year piece made with tools borrowed from Dickie Chang)…hopefully, we get to see Jeff on the next go-round…and, we don’t need to know where the sand is because the inconsiderate hands and feet don’t need company.

Meanwhile, Martina Auinger and Rene Grohs (they’re from Austria — how many gold medals do they have from the Beijing Olympics?) and about three dozen people in their group were thrilled to meet Larry Rivera, Gloria, and Lurline in person when the European Elvis Presley fans (Rene has a tattoo of the King in the same place Phil Worra has a Santa ink) got to tour the former Coco Palms Resort, and catch Larry (he had on his Elvis attire) at the Cafe Portofino show…had to be on Tuesday. What? The Europeans are leaving, today, too?
Kudos to Russ Hasegawa, Coach Leo Anguay and all those Waimea Alumni and Friends Foundation ‘ohana on finding all those fresh corn…how many people were at the farmers market looking for fresh corn? No, Stephen Fujii, not papaya-ready-to-eat, ears of corn on the cob.
OK, this is the weekend the Kaua‘i Quilt Show opens at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery at the Kukui Grove Center. Have you checked out the latest NFL Super Bowl offerings at the sports shop next to Kaua‘i Bakery?
And, don’t forget…Valentine’s Day comes on the heels of the football game…and, are we ready for Malasada Tuesday, yet?
