How did that happen?
Honest, the car “ate” the SD card. Somewhere in there there’s the card that contains coverage of the Kapa‘a Lions Club presenting Steve Kline and the Samuel Mahelona Memorial Hospital all those dolls.
Nice to run into Jill Lowry (Helena Cooney said her seven dolls put the collection over the top!) of Anaina Hou Community Park in Kilauea, who was happy that chef Wally Nishimura is on Janice Bond’s Facebook, and Dr. Kani “Dr. B.” Blackwell was thrilled with the “brown” dolls.
And all those chop-suey potatoes, and what, egg fruit? There were a lot of them at the Pau Hana Market Monday, where Stephen Fujii was looking for papaya (not green kine, the kine that’s ready to eat) after meeting with all those “sports geniuses” — that’s an Eric Rita phrase. He was having an afternoon snack before getting to the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation girls basketball game in Kapa‘a.
Congratulations to Tomoe and Kurt Rutter (he’s retired as an instructor from the nursing department at Kaua‘i Community College) on bringing their honeybee products. The photos of all those shoppers (!!!) at their booth — not to mention the bee wrapping paper — are “lost,” too.
Now, you need to mark the calendar because the Rutters come to the market on the first Monday of the month, alternating with Dr. Francis and Joyce Takahashi (Kurt said he gets queens from him) of Miki Macs, who come to the market on the third Monday of the month. Now, where is that “bee shepherd?”
That’s all right. This weekend is Valentine’s Day, Super Bowl and the opening of the Kaua‘i Quilt Show. Stay safe!
