Gerri Bolosan (yes, she and a group of other wahine artists, including former Mayor Maryanne Kusaka, still do their weekly painting sessions, no longer at Niumalu where the feeling has changed. They now do it at the Kaua‘i Museum) had the company of Patricia Viquelia Saturday during the craft fair (Grove Farm is going to do this every other month now!) that tagged on to the weekly Grove Farm Market.

Ferdinand Dosono of Kaua‘i Kim Chee had to give his granddaughter Liliana Contrades a lunch break (is that what the “Maintenance Crew” from FM97 had for lunch, since the aroma was calling so loudly?).
Charlmaine Bulosan got herself a new Valentine’s present (yes, it’s coming up this weekend, too!) of a roll-up hat (it’s not a visor!) from Cheree Rapozo of Halea Design, and Justice Funamura-Sasil of Creations by Justice (remember that catcher from Kaua‘i High School softball? Yikes, that’s right around the corner, too), and Jamelyn DeCosta of AKM showed off the results of their COVID businesses they started while they were doing distance learning from college.
OK, this is the week The Kaua‘i Quilt Show opens, Friday at the Kaua‘i Society of Artists gallery at Kukui Grove Center in Lihu‘e (they had a chess tournament going to distract the Chinese lions and the North Shore dragon last weekend).
It’s also Super Bowl weekend (alas, Susan Pittman of Clayworks at Kilohana in Puhi said, “No Souper Bowl this year.” What’s chef Johnny Saguid going to do?), and Monday coming is Valentine’s Day. Check out the V-Day activities at KGC this weekend.
