Kudos to the Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation for unleashing a full slate of winter season sports following the week’s “pause” in activity.

Coach Lori Parraga of the Kaua‘i High School paddling program regretted forgetting her jacket in the car, and coach Kevin Matsunaga and his live-streaming team at the KIF swim meet was not only wrangling the rain but buggy signals, too.
Kudos to Kate Conway and the Island School ‘ohana on the groundbreaking for a new classroom building (it’s going to have a makers space, too) where kumu Sabra Kauka (sure missed the endangered-seabird release this year) was glad the Voyagers have such big classes she could use senior kane for kani ka pu. Coach Colby Ayonon broke away from soccer practice for the huli ka lepo, and coach Corey Dobashi was already anticipating the boys basketball game with coach Matt Taba.
Marlene Duarte said she just sounded the horn for the Grove Farm Market (kudos to Aloha Thai for getting the natural blessings on their debut in Puhi) and the rain started, sending Mayette Loseto to don an extra set of clothes over the ones she was wearing so if she got wet, she would have dry clothes underneath.
