Kawehi Martin and Michael Shintani’s brand of entertainment goes well with Halau Ka Lei Mokihana O Leina‘ala and the Tahitian drums being sold by Tepairu Manea. Good job, Gwen Silva.
Dixie and Rose were doing the food thing during the Thursday market, stopping at Jen Ortal’s coconut malasada table before checking out Japanese Grandma’s food truck (it’s now got a white treatment). And don’t forget to check out Greg Askew’s Ono Pops.
Dominique Chambers of Cozy Bowl noodles and Abby Toulon of Koloa Farms were celebrating Abby’s latest approvals for the Kaua‘i Juice Company, Living Foods and Kukui‘ula Store. Dominique is looking for anyone who has surplus ulu available. She can use about a hundred pounds to create flour from which she makes her noodles.
Congratulations to the new Contractors Association of Kaua‘i officers and directors, who were installed by the retired Judge Gerald S. Matsunaga (Judge Laurel Loo did the blessing) at the soon-to-reopen Puaka Golf Course in Lihu‘e.
The CAK guests even got to sample Chef Kristen Yanagawa’s cooking from the Puakea Grill (are the Puakea chips still there?).
