PRINCEVILLE — An exciting round of golf under “sunny blue skies and high surf below” welcomed the 2022 season of the Princeville Makai Women’s Golf Club at the Princeville Makai Golf Course on Jan. 11.
The round was played by a dozen golfers, including nine of the club’s 24 members, a pair of guests, and the club’s newest member, Kiki Morrow.
“This was an exceptional day on the Princeville Makai Golf Course,” said Club President Carla Watson of Hanalei. “The weather was perfect, the course offered its signature challenges that keep the game exciting, and we enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow women golfers during our standing post-round lunch at Makai Grill while talking about the league’s goals for this year.”
The Princeville Women’s Golf Club play an 18-hole round, including fun “game of the day” challenges each Tuesday morning throughout the year.
League membership includes both full- and part-time Kaua‘i residents who put in the annual $50 dues. Watson invites women interested in checking out the Princeville Women’s Golf Club to play as a guest on any Tuesday.
“The Princeville Women’s Golf Club was such a wonderfully supportive place for me to build my golf game,” Watson said. “I learned to golf later in life, as many women do, and this club offered such a warm, inviting atmosphere for me to gain skills and grow my knowledge and love of the game. I highly encourage any woman who is interested in playing more consistently to come out and give our club a try. It’s also a great way to meet other women in the community.”
