LIHU‘E – The state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announced 152 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.
Saturday’s cases bring the number of active cases to 981, with eight hospitalized, and 7,022 cumulative cases.
More detailed information on new cases is available on the DOH COVID-19 data dashboard, at health.hawaii.gov.
For more information on the county’s COVID-19 response, visit kauai.gov/COVID-19.
Due to the high volume of cases, DOH case investigators will generally contact positive cases several days after receiving a positive test. With the shortened isolation period, in some instances case investigators will not be able to reach the cases before the end of isolation periods.
As soon as a positive test is received, the case should isolate at home and notify close contacts and workplace or school. Do not wait to hear from a case investigator. Isolation and quarantine guidance are available at the DOH website, health.hawaii.gov/ and refer to Home Isolation and Quarantine-Guidance.
For more information about isolation and quarantine, visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s website, cdc.gov.
Free vaccination is offered islandwide. Vaccinations are available to anyone 5 years of age or older and are free, safe and effective. For details on vaccination sites, visit kauai.gov/vaccine.
Free testing is also available islandwide. For a full list of testing sites and more details, visit kauai.gov/covidtest. The Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall Lihu‘e testing center is limited to 500 tests per day, and the free mobile testing van is limited to 100 tests per day.
Half as many as the days before. I wonder if it is because people have simply stopped trying to be tested? Just stay at home and wait it out or are these people in like be so they can show they are sick for employer?
