LIHU‘E — The state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office announced 251 new cases of COVID-19 on Saturday.
Saturday’s cases bring the number of active cases to 1,070, with six hospitalized, and 5,507 cumulative cases.

Due to the high volume of cases, it may take DOH case investigators a few days to contact those receiving positive test results.
Anyone testing positive for COVID-19 should immediately isolate at home notify close contacts. Close contacts should quarantine at home and get tested. Free vaccination is offered islandwide.

The weekday testing at the Lihu‘e Kaua‘i War Memorial Convention Hall testing center is limited to 500 tests per day, and the free mobile-testing van is limited to 100 tests per day.
