LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation Cheer champion Waimea High School team landed six of the twelve All-Star positions, in the announcement of the KIF Cheerleading All-Stars, Thursday.
LIHU‘E — The Kaua‘i Interscholastic Federation Cheer champion Waimea High School team landed six of the twelve All-Star positions, in the announcement of the KIF Cheerleading All-Stars, Thursday.
KIF champion Waimea High School, advanced to the Zippy’s Hawai‘i High School Cheerleading competition on O‘ahu where the Menehune squad finished sixth place in the HHSAA Medium Division with a total of 299.0 points, a mere point-and-a-half behind Lahainaluna High School of the Maui Interseholastic League that finished with 300.5 points. Radford High School finished tops in the division with 359.0 points.
Menehune cheer captain Kyrie Linoz was voted by the KIF coaches and officials to represent the All-Stars, one of three Waimea seniors voted to the list. Other seniors include Shar-Lein Acosta and Kahylie-Rose Hepa. Waimea juniors Maeani Arbilera, Hailey Ragasa, and Kemanalani Martin are Waimea High School juniors who were voted to the All-Star list.
Kaua‘i High School and Kapa‘a High School teams each added three members to the KIF All-Stars.
Samaria Kelley, a Red Raider senior, Kate Nakamura, and Janessa Partallag, both 11th graders, were the Kaua‘i High School selections.
Kapa‘a High School All-Stars include Makenzie Cummings, a senior, and Jaylee Souza Yim and Kayana Goias Jerves, both juniors.
