WAIMEA — The Waimea Public Library will be closed for renovations through spring 2022.
Beginning Tuesday, a Library Pop-Up will be held at the Kaua‘i Community Science Center in Waimea, where readers may return, request or pick-up materials, browse new books, and get a library card, among other services.
The pop-up will be held Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays weekly, from 8:30 a.m. to noon, then 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.
The $1.1 million renovations will include new flooring, painting, updating the program space and updating the restrooms, according to a spokesperson.
With the library closed, readers are encouraged to visit other branches, or use the library system’s online portal at librarieshawaii.org.
