HANALEI — Kuhio Highway at Hanalei Bridge has reopened to traffic, according to the Kaua‘i Police Department.
The bridge reopened around 10 a.m. on Friday, after closing due to flooding around 6:30 a.m.
A National Weather Service issued a Flash Flood Warning for Kaua‘i was canceled at 9:30 a.m., but the bridge remains closed, according to officials.
Motorists are advised to continue to exercise caution on all roadways.

Perhaps if the river were properly maintained, and all the growth cleared out of it so the water could flow more easily out to sea, that area wouldn’t flood.
