Following are this week’s synopses of shows on KBFD TV, which televises Korean dramas with English subtitles:
Weekly Update
KBFD will broadcast a special, year-end, two-part documentary, “Puzzle,” on Dec. 30, at 9:25 p.m. and Dec. 31 at 9:25 p.m. Kookminbo was the first newspaper publication from 1913 to 1968. The publisher was Kook min Hur, also known as The Korean National Association. This newspaper unified the Korean immigrants in Hawai‘i and served a critical role in the Korean independence. This documentary travels to key historical sites on O‘ahu and South Korea to track the ongoing project of gathering all the 50-plus years of publication and collectively make a complete collection with the help of various organizations: Center for Korean Studies, UCLA and the Independence Hall of Korea. Get a glimpse of Korean immigration in old Hawai‘i through the lens of KBFD.

Today, 6:40 p.m.: Seongjun goes in search of Donghui after hearing Gwiboon’s talk. Mijoo is flabbergasted at Donghui’s upstanding way. Hyejoo comes across an unexpected information at the hospital. Hyunwoo has no choice to take action when Seongjun is unable to leave Han family.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Jihoon is upset and disappointed at the elders for not understanding how he feels. Mijoo is anxious when Seongjun visits her late at night. Donghui starts to find out about her identity.
“Now, We Are Breaking Up”

Monday, 7:45 p.m.: Young-eun’s design is leaked and Sono’s new season hits a wall. When things seem hopeless, Jae-kuk shares a quote of a bird learning to fly with broken wings with Young-eun, inspiring her to break molds and come up with an innovative idea. Just when Sono was making a fabulous comeback, Young-eun receives a ominous text message.
Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Shin Yoo-jung candidly tells Young-eun about her longstanding relationship with Jae-kuk and Soo-wan’s family and Jae-kuk tells her the shocking truth about Soo-wan’s past. Jae-kuk’s feelings for Young-eun hasn’t changed but between them is Soo-wan, and now, Yoo-jung.
“Secrets and Lies”
Episodes 69 and 70 (Wed.); Episodes 71 and 72 (Thur.)
Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Hwa-kyung thinks of doing the unthinkable to Ju-won. Woo-jung goes to the staircase where Ju-won had the accident and tries to find her mom’s phone. Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Hwa-kyung visits Ju-won at the hospital. Woo-jung gets suspicious of Hwa-kyung and asks the police to look into Hwa-kyung. Woo-jung and Do-bin enters the tigers’ den to find the truth. Hwa-kyung tries to do the unthinkable when Ju-won regains her consciousness.
“Our Beloved Summer”

Friday, 7:45 p.m.: A documentary they filmed in high school is making a sudden comeback. They each had their own reason for being in the documentary and it became an unforgettable and irresistible memory for them.
Saturday, 7:45 p.m.: Yeon-su visits Choi Woong over a project with Soen Shop. There’s a palpable strain between the two after five years apart. Meanwhile, Ji-woong decides to take up the offer of filming a follow-up documentary on the two.
