David Anthony Silva
David Anthony Silva, 75, of Kalaheo, passed away on Dec. 12, 2021. He was born on Kaua‘i on Aug. 13, 1946, and retired from the Kaua‘i Fire Department after 25 years of service.
He was preceded in death by parents Frank Silva and Eleanor Carvalho, siblings Frank Silva, Patricia Ann Reyes and Marilyn Silva, and sons David Anthony Silva Jr. and Robby Silva.
He is survived by children Darin (Crissy) Sugano, Christel (Keone) Asai, Ryan Silva and Kyle Silva, eight grandchildren, one great-grandchild and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Kaua‘i Memorial Gardens &Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Makali‘ili‘i Kika Morikawa
Happy Alice Makali‘ili‘i Kika Morikawa 91 of Hanama‘ulu passed away at home on Dec. 8, 2021. She was born on Dec. 29, 1929 in Honolulu, and retired from the AFL-CIO Laborer’s Union Local 368.
She was preceded in death by husband Yasumori Morikawa, sons Noel Yasu Morikawa and Brent Morikawa, grandson Paul Kaipo Pomaikai Jr., sister Christina Yadao, and brothers Herman Kila Sr., Stephen Kila Sr., Allan Kila Sr. and Paul Kila Sr.
She is survived by daughters Candace Namiko (Dale) Byers of Mill Creek, Washington, Wendy Keakealani (Gareth) Souza, Cathy Misuko (Anthony) Simao, Lori Eiko Pomaikai (Lincoln) of Kona, Hawai‘i Island, Stacie Toshiko (Joseph Jr.) Victorino, Terri Tomiyo (Kenn) Miyashiro, Tamra Yoshiko (Kurt Sr.) Medeiros, Arnel Leimomi (George) Cummings, Alice Lehua (Duke) Pu‘ulei, Cindy Morikawa, PJ (Jim) Foster, 35 grandchildren, 72 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life is Friday, Jan. 7, 2022 at Borthwick Kaua‘i Mortuary in Koloa. Visitation with the family begins at 9:45 a.m., with the service to follow. The family sugests casual or aloha attire.
A private burial will be held.
