LIHU‘E — Veterans, active-duty military and their family members are invited to a free, drive-thru Christmas lunch this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., or until supplies are exhausted, at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center.
The event is being done to help mitigate the spread the COVID-19 virus and its variants in lieu of the traditional get-together at the Kaua‘i Veterans Center. Face masks must be worn during the drive-thru.
Each vehicle will be limited to four lunches. Recipients must provide proof of service by having identification such as a driver’s license, VA card, DD 214 or military ID card.
Drivers are asked to enter the Kaua‘i Veterans Center parking lot and drive around to the back of the building to pick up lunch.
The drive-thru lunch is being co-sponsored by the AARP and SHAKA Spam food truck.
