Isabella Emily (Linda) Victorino
Isabella Emily (Linda) Victorino, 68, of Kapahi, born on Dec. 26, 1952, went home to the Lord on Nov. 4, 2021, at The Queen’s Medical Center on O‘ahu, surrounded by the love of her family.
She was preceded in death by parents Isabella Espin Victorino and Joseph Vincent Victorino Sr.
She is survived by daughter Linda Victorino, son Buddy Victorino, grandchildren Buddy Vincent Kamuela Victorino, Cody Tavia Ka‘ohuokehoni Victorino and Ford Holden Kaleiho‘ohie Victorino, brother Joseph (Stacie) Victorino Jr., hanai sister Healani Mandrigues, niece Stacie Laura (Rowland) Wong, nephews Joseph (Tiffany Hiranaka) Victorino III and Matthew (Kui Len) Victorino, grandnephews Zack (Kelsey) Victorino, Russell Gushiken, Kyten Sukehira Victorino, James Victorino and Brennan Hiranaka, aunty Thelma Lopes and uncle Louie (Margaret) Victorino, and numerous friends and family.
A celebration of life is Saturday, Dec. 4, at Kapa’a Missionary Church. Visitation with the family is 10 to 11 a.m. with service to follow. Burial will be private.

Janet Hovis
April 8, 1925 – November 9, 2021
Janet Hovis passed away peacefully at her home in Santa Monica, California, on Nov. 9, 2021, at the age of 96.
She was born in Cleveland, Ohio, to parents Stouder and Isabel (Hayner) Thompson. She moved to Los Angeles at an early age and attended Marlboro School for Girls, where she developed her competitive nature and a lifelong love of tennis. After studying at Finch College in New York, she returned home to further her education at UCLA. She met and married her husband, Richard, before relocating to San Francisco and then to O‘ahu. Her deep love of Hawai‘i kept her there for several years before she settled in her beloved Santa Monica residence.
She was a skilled artist who found great joy in creating collage cards for her family and friends. She was a devoted mother and an adored grandmother. She was a woman with an exceptionally strong will and a determination to live a life she loved. She was a special character who will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by son Peter Hovis, daughter Lisa Sullivan, and granddaughters Lauren Hovis and Michaela Sullivan.
A celebration of life is forthcoming, and will be announced at a later date.

Beatrice S. Silva
Beatrice S. Silva of Kalaheo passed away on Nov. 20, 2021, at the age of 93. She was born on July 24, 1928 in Koloa and was a retired as a cashier from Sueoka Store.
She was preceded in death by parents Philoman and Maria Simao, husband Nicholas G. Silva, son Bernard Silva, brothers Daniel Simao, Manuel Simao, Frankie Simao and Bernard Simao, and sisters Madeline Aguiar, Margaret Reis and Marriane Baptiste.
She is survived by sons Joseph (Linda) Silva and Nicholas “Dennis” (Donna) Silva, sisters Dorothy Costa and Bernice Perriera, nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Sunny ‘Raybeth’ Brown-Lazaro
Sunny “Raybeth” Brown-Lazaro, 64, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Nov. 27, 2021. She was born on Oct. 8, 1957 in McDonough, Illinois.
She fought her illnesses bravely but knew when it was time to go home. Tenderhearted and generous, she passionately gave of herself to her husband Paleka, children and grandchildren. She was a loving sister and loyal friend. She will be missed by those who had the honor of being loved by her.
She was preceded in death by husband Patrick “Paleka” Lazaro Sr., mother Ruth Walls, father Raymond Brown, brother Ray Pee Brown and sister Mary Katherine Brown.
She is survived by son Patrick Lazaro Jr. of Kaua‘i, daughters Kawika “KiKa” Lazaro of Kaua‘i, Tasha (Tavita) Tu of Kaua‘i, Brenda Lazaro of Kaua‘i, Shentel Frye of Kaua‘i, Marla Medeiros of Kaua‘i, Akala Aiwohi of Kaua‘i and DeeAnn Slobig of Washington state, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren, sisters Sara Del Conte, Rayann Brown, Dee Haward and Lollie Hofer, and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ernest ‘Olaf’ S. Fujita
Ernest “Olaf” S. Fujita passed away on Oct. 31, 2021 at the age of 93.
He was preceded in death by wife Judith (Judy) Fujita and daughter Karen Ramos.
He is survived by children Guy (Judy) Fujita and Lisa (Fujita) Gubaton, grandchildren Shereen (David) Abalos, Dyani (Bru) Fujita, Breeann (Kenny) Estes, Kylen (Chynna) Chinen, Tyler Chinen, Beau (Dinorah) Ramos and Aaron Ramos, and 14 great-grandchildren.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, a celebration of life was held privately at Kaua‘i Veterans Cemetery.

Judith Pi‘ilani Taniguchi passed away on Nov. 13, 2021, at her residence, at the age of 66. She was born on Dec. 15, 1954 in Waimea. She was a retired cafeteria associate with Waimea High School.
She was preceded in death by sons Wayne Al Martin Jr. and Shane Kaina Martin and parents Hulu and Kanani Taniguchi.
She is survived by Wayne Martin Sr. of Kalaheo, daughter Vanessa (Bud) Akana of Kekaha, grandchildren Shayna (Jim) Malina, Tristen (Bernie) Akana, Cayla (Kai Boi) Akana and Cainen Akana, great- grandchild Kaizen Kawahalao, brothers Hulu (Guylyn) Taniguchi of O‘ahu, Kenneth (Susan) Taniguchi of Kapa‘a and Jerry Anthony Taniguchi of Waimea, sisters-in-law Phyllis (Manuel) Andrade of Lawa‘i, Valerie (Ronald) Perreira of Kalaheo and Eileen (Jim) Endicott, cousins Ulu (Howard) Perreira of Kalaheo, Ala Nizo, Ruth Naumu, Heidi Kaohi and Carmelita Haumea, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins

Yolanda Keli‘ikuli, born June 9, 1938, passed away on Sept. 12, 2021. A celebration of life is Saturday, Dec. 4, at Holy Cross Church in Kalaheo, with visitation with the family at 9 a.m. and Mass at 9:30 a.m. Face masks and social distancing required.
