Happy anniversary, Pau Hana Market!
Happy anniversary, Pau Hana Market!
Sonya Emura and her sons Makana and Makoa (he discovered the macadamia nuts from Dr. Francis Takahashi of Miki Macs Honey) of Kaua‘i Churros are back, much to the delight of market shoppers (one said it’s a mess, but worth every bit, and Jean Souza — no, she’s still not working — said she loves how Sonya has her two sons working).
Mahalo to the Kaua‘i High School Key Club for coming up with Thanksgiving meal centerpieces and donating them to the Kaua‘i Independent Food Bank during its appearance at the market for its holiday food drive!
Robbie Melton of the Small Business Development Center was chasing customers down with her free Small Business Saturday shopping bags. Frank Cruz and Cruz Control will be busy playing Friday when Santa makes his official appearance, and again on Small Business Saturday, staying for the opening of the Holiday Light Show. Whew, that’s a lot of moving equipment.
Kudos to Sarah Tochiki, who came out of the COVID-19 curtain to bring back the Kaua‘i Community College Jazz Ensemble! Sarah is coming back with the Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School Band and the Kaua‘i Community College Symphony, too! Watch for it!
Laurie Ho said she’ll be on hand Saturday to help with Small Business Saturday, and Lea Nuesca will be back with Tiffany Dick and the Aloha Dance Studio for its open house. Aloha Dance Studio will also be doing a special performance during the opening of the Holiday Light Show, and instead of its traditional recital, will be featured for three weekends in December.
Happy Thanksgiving, Kaua‘i. I’m grateful to be here with you!
