Unfortunately, the state Department of Land and Natural Resources confirmed there won’t be the annual Arbor Day sale at the Pua Loke nursery because of the COVID-19 pandemic, and the construction of the new building taking place at the nursery site. That means all you shoppers for trees will have to rely on the annual Arbor Day Tree Giveaway with Maurina Borgatti and Larry Borgatti of the Kaua‘i Landscape Industry Council that takes place from 9 a.m. on Saturday at the Kalepa Road parking lot in a drive-through distribution…that’s the same parking lot the Pau Hana Market takes place at on Mondays.

Bev Pang was excited about the new pie seller that showed up Monday…and what about Misha Tam (she’s related to Bev, too) who will bring her line of jewelry as a pop up starting Thursday at the space next to ParTea (they still haven’t moved to the food court area, yet).
No farmers market, this week…instead, checked out the Kalaheo Dental Group who bought a large number of candies and treats from young trick or treaters to be shipped overseas to our military personnel through the Operation Gratitude (isn’t there a Gratitude Day program, Saturday at Kukui Grove?) and the UPS Store.
Jenn Ortal (she coordinates about 30 vendors at the Sheraton Kaua‘i Resort in Poipu) found out that Chip Bahouth launched the resort’s support for Toys for Tots and needs to remind her vendors that a dollar from entrées at Lava’s, and 50 cents for a cup of coffee from Link (that’s the Starbucks cafe at Sheraton) go toward this year’s campaign…and it’s a good time to check out the places because the visitors haven’t caught up since the discouragement of non-essential travel. Pancakes, anyone?
