How did the oxtail soup turn out, Mel Rapozo?
Patsy Rapozo said husband Mel was attempting to make a recipe of oxtail soup while she helped the Kaua‘i Pop Warner Football League host its regional cheer championships at the Kaua‘i Gymnastics Academy in Kapa‘a Sunday.
The soup is supposed to be dinner after the day-long experience for the 10 teams within the league.
Kudos to Teddy Arroyo and the KPWFL ‘ohana (they’ve been busy with a lot of community activities like pumpkin giveaways and more) on hosting the championships that involved sequestering the teams at Kapahi Park and shuttling the pepsters to the Kaua‘i Gymnastics Academy for practice and competition to stay in accordance with COVID-19 rules.
Buddy Lizama said, “Who would’ve thought we would be experiencing something like COVID-19 where everyone globally is involved and affected?”
Kudos to all the Halloween event organizers for their efforts at putting together community events, and kudos to Jodie Cable Treadwell, who started as the KQNG Radio “prize goddess” just days ahead of the Halloween Festival, where she got a lot of help from Joyce Tumaneng, Denise Roberts, Ron Wiley and Jennifer Schad in making sure the sold-out crowd of more than 300 trick-or-treaters were going home happy.
Lexi Jones was busy Friday getting the Aloha Friday Mo‘olelo Murals artists (is is “e-e,” “i-e,” or “?”, Bree Blake?) taken care of with a portable speaker for music as the group was joined by new artists Nick Arnold (nah, he already has a vibrant and vivid landscape), Annie Coan and Kate Vincent on the Friday afternoon Kress Street scene.
