LIHU‘E — Tuesday, the state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Kaua‘i, one visitor and five residents.
LIHU‘E — Tuesday, the state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported six new cases of COVID-19 on Kaua‘i, one visitor and five residents.
Of the six new cases, three are children and three are adults.
Two of the cases are related to mainland travel. The remaining four cases are considered community-acquired. Two of the community-acquired infections are close contacts of a previously announced case or are tied to an active cluster. The remaining two cases have no known source of infection.
This brings the number of active cases on island to 48, with two hospitalized. Since the start of the pandemic, 2,558 cumulative cases have been logged on the island.
Wilcox Medical Center and the Hawai‘i Health Systems Corporation mobile vaccine van is at the Anahola Marketplace from noon to 3 p.m. today, Anaina Hou Community Park in Kilauea Friday from noon to 4:30 p.m., and the Hanalei Neighborhood Center Saturday from noon to 3 p.m.
Ho‘ola Lahui Hawai‘i will offer vaccines at Isenberg Park in Lihu‘e from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday.
All of these clinics offer free vaccines to ages 12 and up, and no appointments are needed.
A free mobile testing van is available for walk-ins from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Kekaha Neighborhood Center today, Kilauea Neighborhood Center on Thursday, Kalaheo Neighborhood Center on Friday, Hanalei Neighborhood Center on Saturday, and the Mayor Bryan J. Baptiste Sports Complex in Kapa‘a on Sunday.
Free drive-thru testing is also available daily at Lihu‘e Pharmacy Group, Kolopa Street near the Puhi Safeway, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
