The wind cooperated as he flew his American flag high over his tent at the Grove Farm Market on Saturday in Puhi, where the fish vendors must’ve scored extra to be able to stay longer than they normally do.
Chef Jakki Nelson said she had to miss sailing this week because she was landscaping, but will definitely be aboard Fast Company with Jim Saylor on Thursday (only how many more weeks remain in the 2021 sailing calendar?). And did Mayette Loseto’s “house” move? Appears she was closer to the Tropical Flower Express than usual. Oh, we were late, that’s why.
Kudos to Sheila Bradley and Melissa McFerrin-Warrack for working out the book fair (this week’s event benefited Island School) schedule that runs through Oct. 24 in the corner spot next to Cell Everything (across from T-Mobile and Oki’s Bento).
This weekend’s showing on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday benefits St. Theresa School, the Oct. 1 through 3 showing benefits Koloa School, and down the line through Oct. 24.
More kudos to Rowena Contrades-Pangan, Kamealoha Smith of the Hanalei River Heritage Foundation and all those hands for making Na Wai Eha a tremendous success on Saturday!
Rowena said they plan to continue the service on Fridays at the Ho‘omana Thrift Store in Wailua from 2 to 5 p.m. because the response was tremendous (Darnell Sugioka-Costales, the Hi‘ehi‘e mobile shower cleaning queen — they gotta clean after every shower — loved being busy).
