September is Suicide Prevention Month. Kudos to KGC, Kaua‘i Planning &Action Alliance, Keiki to Career, Kamehameha Schools, Wilcox Medical Center, Hale ‘Opio Kaua‘i and Kaua‘i Makerspace for providing that helpful lifeline!
More congratulations in the air as Opinder Deol of Shakti debuted at the Pau Hana Market (yes, Kaua‘i Churros with the Emura ‘ohana is still pumping out those ono morsels — especially when they come hot off the cooker!) with an offering of Indian food that ended up being Bill Spitz’s dinner.
Had to cut the market short because Laurie Ho of the Kaua‘i County Farm Bureau coordinated a visit by the Kaua‘i Invasive Species Committee to teach the farmer vendors how to use the fire-ant traps so they can become part of collecting samples for a better idea of the little fire ant infestation. It was not a good day for Mayette Loseto to be missing in action.
