LIHU‘E — The state Department of Health Kaua‘i District Health Office reported Kaua‘i’s ninth fatality from COVID-19, and announced 43 new COVID-19 cases Saturday.
The fatality was a female Kaua‘i resident in her 70s who was hospitalized.
“It is with deep sadness that we announce another death from COVID-19, and we extend our sincere condolences to the family, friends and loved ones of this individual,” said Mayor Derek Kawakami.
“As a community, we must come together to get through this, and we’re asking everyone to do their part to keep Kaua‘i healthy and safe, especially for our most vulnerable.”
Saturday’s cases include two visitors and 41 residents. Of the 43 cases, 16 are children and 27 are adults. Three of the cases are related to travel — one mainland and two interisland. The remaining 40 new cases are considered community-acquired.
Thirty-six of the community-acquired infections are close contacts of previously announced cases or are tied to an active cluster. The remaining four community-acquired cases have no known source of infection, including two cases whom investigators have been unable to reach after repeated attempts or who have refused to provide information.
Active cases are directed to isolate, and close contacts are being identified, offered testing and directed to quarantine. Investigations are ongoing.
Saturday’s cases bring the number of active cases to 324, with three hospitalized, and 1,591 cumulative cases.

With 43 new cases Saturday, and 44 new cases on Friday and 62 new positive cases the day before, and 700 a day taking the test each day, meaning over approximately over 2,000 are negative, but in reality, the people who spread the virus did not just infect 62 and 44 and 43 people, it is more like they infected 10 people in the community for everyone that actually took the test, but as many as another person 1,500 who are asymptomatic but positive and healthy.
Meaning it is probable that over 1,000 people are Covid/Delta positive just in the last few days; and all of them are well on their way to completing their personal Immune Process, and will be, in approximately 14 days, both immune to the virus and non contagious. This means these over 1,000 people are now part of Herd Immunity, which we were advised over a year ago by many authorities was that Herd Immunity was mandatory to eliminate the viruses from the community.
Herd Immunity means people can’t be re-infected with the virus, nor are they contagious any longer. With herd Immunity prevalent in the population, it means the viruses become eliminated, because the viruses are not able to infect oneself, nor be spread to others.
In other words, the viruses become self limiting, even without the need for vaccines, by way of Healthy people with Healthy Immune Systems eliminating the viruses naturally.
It appears the majority of those being tested are the unvaccinated needing to fulfill their job requirement of weekly testing.
We are getting there, just carry on, do not do anything to stop what is happening now.
Very important is that we must be diligent to protect our seniors who are elderly and are under medical care, and have 1 or more long term end of life diseases, like life long obesity, leading simultaneously to diabetes, heart, stroke, high blood pressure, respiratory, and cancer diseases, while also taking numerous toxic prescription drugs daily.
As family and neighbors to these sick elderly people, please assist them in their staying home but allowing them to be outdoors in the sun and yard, and supplied with nutritious food and drinks, and other household supplies as Herd Immunity grows in our neighborhoods.
Congratulations to our community members for their patience in waiting this long time now that there are enough healthy people infected, and of 62 and 44 new positive cases in just 2 days, and none needed hospitalization, no people are in ICU beds, and only 2 people are in hospital from prior infections.
Let’s hope many more people of all ages will become Positive and Asymptomatic and we reach Herd Immunity in the months ahead.
How many vaccinated cases do we get each day? Are vaccines working? If all cases are unvaccinated, easy fix. Get a shot. If a lot of vaccinated are getting sick too, then why vaccinate?
Why isn’t that stat reported?
Great to see the major shift in people realized they have been fed fear and misinformation by the people responsible for providing good faith information. I know many people on kauai and on the mainland having had covid and also the vaccine then getting covid again. The jig is up. It’s no where near as bad as was promulgated. Thank god. Be healthy folks. And live your life with conviction and compassion for others.

We have none of the story here. What was she admitted into the hospital for? What was the plan of care she received? What was her true cause of death? Was it actually covid, or did she die from other causes WITH covid?
Community acquired from the tourist that are EVERYWHERE!! I have encountered mask less people in Aloha country market and Subway, wth!!
