Following are this week’s synopses of shows on KBFD TV, which televises Korean dramas with English subtitles:
Weekly Update
Jinbirok is a new drama on KBFD that airs on Saturdays and Sundays at 9:20 p.m. We have had many viewers call in to ask the meaning of Jingbirok. The historical drama Jingbirok is also called the Book of Corrections, was written by a high ranking government official Seong Ryong Ryu during the Joeson Dynastyin 1604 , which later in 1969 became a National Treasures of South Korea. The book wrote about the Japanese invasion, war atrocities and government relations between China and Korea. The book also is a reflection on Ryu’s own shortcomings primarily to prevent future mistakes.
“Father I Will Take Care Of You”
Episodes 9 and 10 (Sun.)
Today, 6:40 p.m.: Donghui escapes from gangsters with Seungjoon’s help and they spend the night at the library. Hyunwoo starts work as the president and pledges to invest in new projects and ventures.
Today, 7:45 p.m.: Hyunwoo drags Jungeun to the parking lot. He throws down his toolbox and makes Jungeun retreat to a wall. Jungeun retaliates and asks what he knows about her all the while feeling scared and baffled at the situation.
“Birthday Letter”
Part 2 of 2 (Mon.);
Monday, 7:45 p.m.: Mugil and Ilae’s lives turn more desperate as Hiroshima is hit with the bomb. They try to find their way back home in chaos. When they believed they had found their way, the fate will play a trick once again.
“Crevasse”
One-part drama special
Tuesday, 7:45 p.m.: Crevasse is a deep, open crack in a glacier. This one-part drama special shows a couple who falls into a crack, a uncondoned relationship, pushed trying to fill the void of everyday life. Although a life for Soo-Min seemed perfect from the outside, with a successful husband and career, she can’t help but feel the void. She feels neglected and ignored by her husband and child, and falls for someone to fill the void.
“Secrets and Lies”
Episodes 1 and 2 (Wed.); Episodes 3 and 4 (Thur.)
Wednesday, 7:45 p.m.: Everyone lives with some secret. Some will lie to hide their secret. A story of a woman who is made up of lies. And another who lives within her principles and honest values. A love based on lies and secret versus love based on honesty and decency. Watch as these couples face choosing temptation and honesty.
Thursday, 7:45 p.m.: Upon hearing that his days are numbered, Chun-sung seeks out Ju-won to find his daughter. Hwa-kyung gets furious when Sun-young reveals her identity. Myung-jun gets anxious when Hwa-kyung’s father shows up. Myung-jun reaches out to Chun-sung when the announcement to find his daughter nears. Do-bin finds out Hwa-kyung is actually Sun-ju and tries to persuade her. Chairman Oh comes across an information that his grandchild might be still alive.
“Penthouse III”
Episode 15 (Fri.); Episode 16 (Sat.)
Friday, 7:55 p.m.: “I no longer trust the police or the justice system. I’ll punish them myself.” Five people gather in Logan’s house and plot to punish Joo Dan-tae and Cheon Seo-jin by using their weakness against them by enlisting Baek Joon-ki and Jin Boon-hong. Meanwhile, Soo-ryeon leaves behind a sketch of her with her daughter to convey to Seok-kyung her longing for her.
Saturday, 7:55 p.m.: “Feel what it’s like to be in a living hell!” Retribution begins for Joo Dan-tae and Cheon Seo-jin. Ro-na calls the reporters together and plays the Blackbox footage of her mom’s last moments. Eun-byul vows to protect her mom as everyone turns their backs on her.
