LIHU‘E — Over $3 million in state capital improvement project funds has been released to upgrade three sports facilities on Kaua‘i.
State Sen. President Ronald D. Kouchi, a Democrat who represents Kaua‘i and Ni‘ihau, made the announcement Tuesday.
The majority of the money, $1.68 million, will go toward wind-strength upgrades at Kilauea Neighborhood Center’s gymnasium.
Hanapepe Stadium will receive $1 million for new amenities, and $500,000 will go toward financing a new sports complex in Anahola.
