Thomas ‘Tommy’ John Horcher

Tommy was born in Illinois and moved to California with his Mom and Dad when he was two years old. He lived in California for 24 years until he moved to Kaua‘i in 2009 to be closer to his Dad and Step-Mom. He was the owner of All Island Adventures, “Creating Memories that Last a Lifetime”.
Tommy is survived by his Mother Janey Dawson Smith (Steve), his father Don Horcher (Sharon), his sisters Ashley O’Malley (Sean) and Caity Bailey, numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and an abundance of friends.
Tommy had an infectious smile, a heart of gold, found humor in everything and was the king of one-liners. He was a true San Francisco Giants fan. He fell in love with the island and all of it’s beauty. Tommy gave his life to save two others and he will be forever remembered as a hero! We love you so much Tommy and we will see you again in Paradise.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Kaua‘i, Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at Poipu Beach across the street from Brennecke’s Beach Broiler at 4 p.m.

Gwendolyn Marie Carveiro
Gwendolyn (Gwen) Carveiro, of Kalaheo, passed away at Garden Island Health Care on Feb. 27, 2020, at the age of 81. She worked for Wilcox Hospital and HOPACO and retired in 1993.
Gwendolyn was preceded in death by parents John V. Medeiros, Sr. and Mary Medeiros, husband Lawrence Carveiro and brother Leonard Medeiros.
Gwendolyn is survived by daughters Lawrie (Ron) Ellamar, Debby (Leroy) Gatioan, Lisa (Marvin) Fernandez, brother John V. (Shirley) Medeiros, Jr., sisters Carol (Tom) DePonte, Kathleen (George) Langtad, hanai sisters Wanda (Bondie) Brooksher and the late, Wilma (Fred) Dela Cruz, grandchildren Raven (Brian Shoop) Woods, Amanda (Troy) Suga, Micah (Teal Takayama) Fernandez, Skyler (Alissa Rapacon) Fernandez, Branden (Jessie Coney) Gatioan, Tanner (Kellie Joto) Fernandez, great-grand babies, Makani Fernandez, Tristan Suga, furbaby Lucy, many nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Life is on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Kalaheo. Mass begins at 10 a.m.

Ida Healani Kaliko’okalani (Hayselden) Furumoto
Ida passed away peacefully on July 29, 2021 at her childhood home in Kekaha, surrounded by her family.
Ida was born on January 2, 1948 at Waimea Dispensary Hospital to Thomas Sr. and Ida Hayselden.
Ida was preceded in death by her husband Gene Furumoto, her parents, sister Ululani Woerman, son-in-law Keala Kauanui and brother-in-law Joe Brown.
Ida is survived by her daughters Grace Furumoto, Cherlee Serquina, Jean (Jonathan) Suguitan, Lynette Furumoto and Iris Furumoto. Grand children Ashley Furumoto, Austin Furumoto, Nathan Suguitan, Kaylyn (Isaa) Horner, Edwin Furumoto, Makana Furumoto-Serquina, Kailani Kinney, Beau Furumoto-Serquina, Kaimanu Kinney, Shaelyne Kauanui, Kainoa Kinney and Brayden Kauanui, great grand-daughter Jaelyn Horner, siblings Thomas Jr. (Nancy) Hayselden, Alice Brown, brother-in-law Ken Woerman and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Celebration of Life for Ida will be held on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Kuhio Park at 10 a.m. Family request casual or aloha attire. Flowers are welcomed.

Clifford Roscoe Stevenson
We are saddened to announce the passing of our beloved brother Clifford Roscoe Stevenson, at the age of 39.
Born to William and Melody Stevenson on Dec. 9, 1981, Clifford is survived by his sisters Amber (Keoni Adviento) Stevenson, Naomi Stevenson, Jasmine Stevenson and niece Sanoe Stevenson-Egeland.
Clifford is joined in heaven by his loving mother Melody.
A private memorial service and spreading of his ashes will be held at a later date.
“God never promised an easy life. He said that we will have suffering and heartaches, but He also promised that He will be with us, to comfort us and reunite us on the other side.”

Dennis Lee Kaipo Blake
Dennis Lee Kaipo Blake of Koloa, passed away at his home at the age of 77 on July 19, 2021. He was a retired truck driver with Hawaiian Bitumuls.
Dennis was preceded in death by parents Charles and Thelma Blake and wife Judith “Hana” Blake.
Dennis is survived by sons Duane “Kaipo” (Tricia) Blake, Danny “Kawika” (Malia) Blake, brother Alva Blake, grandchildren Bree Kanoelaniokekai Blake, Blythe “Hoku” Blake Makalapua Blake, Dallas Kilakila Blake, great-granddaughter Jeremiah Blake, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, friends.
A Celebration of Life is Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at The Church of Koloa “Old Koloa Church.” Visitation is from 9:30 to 10 a.m., with service to follow. Due to Covid-19 social distancing and masks are required.

Loren J. Rendon
Loren J. Rendon, 41, of Koloa, passed away on July 24, 2021, at Wilcox Memorial Hospital. He was born on Kaua‘i on Nov. 10, 1979, and was an entrepreneur.
Loren is survived by his parents Herminio and Laureana Rendon, siblings Christine Wakumoto/Rendon, Keith (Rachelle) Rendon, Clayton Rendon, nephews Eric (Tiffany) Wakumoto Jr., Jonathan (Sha’Nisha) Wakumoto, Blaze (Brandy) Rendon, Clayton (Katie) Rendon Jr., nieces Jenna (Kapena) Tehero, Jaimie (James) Wakumoto, Shaya Rendon and Chrislyn (Kevin) Robledo.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, Aug. 14, 2021, at St. Raphael’s Church in Koloa. Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. with services to follow at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Kauai Memorial Gardens. Social Distancing and masks required.
